The pkl winners list is the fastest way to answer the one question every kabaddi fan asks at some point: who has actually won this league? Twelve seasons have produced eight different champions, three back-to-back titles for one club, and finals decided by one point, by three points, and by a tie-breaker shootout. This page lists every champion, every runner-up, and every final score from Season 1 to Season 12, then explains what those results tell us about the league. Season 13 has no winner yet, and this page will be updated the day the next final is played.

Summary (TL;DR)
Patna Pirates have won the PKL title three times (Seasons 3, 4, 5). Dabang Delhi K.C. and Jaipur Pink Panthers have won it twice each. U Mumba, Bengaluru Bulls, Bengal Warriors, Puneri Paltan, and Haryana Steelers have won it once each. Dabang Delhi K.C. are the defending champions after beating Puneri Paltan 31–28 in the Season 12 final on 31 October 2025. Season 13 is To Be Announced.

PKL Winners List: Season-by-Season Champions (S1–S12)
This is the complete pkl winners list for every finished season. Read the table first, then the season-by-season notes below it for context on what decided each final. Winning captains are listed as reported. Where the table shows a blank for Most Valuable Player, that means the award for that season is not verified in this pass and has been left blank on purpose rather than guessed.
How to read this table
Season means the PKL season number. Year means the calendar year or years in which that season was played. Champion is the club that won the final. Runner-up is the club that lost the final. Final score is the score at the end of the final, including any tie-breaker where one was needed. Scroll sideways on a phone to see every column.
| Season | Year | Champion | Runner-up | Final score | Winning captain (reported) | MVP |

| 2 | 2015 | U Mumba | Bengaluru Bulls | 36–30 | Anup Kumar | — |

| 12 | 2025 | Dabang Delhi K.C. | Puneri Paltan | 31–28 | Ashu Malik | Fazel Atrachali |
Two things in that table deserve a second look. First, Season 3 and Season 4 both happened in 2016, one in January and one in June. That is why the season numbers run ahead of the calendar years. Second, the table includes Season 6. Some lists on the web skip Season 6 or merge it into another row. That is a mistake. Bengaluru Bulls won Season 6, beating Gujarat Giants 38–33, and any winners list without that row is incomplete.
Season 1 (2014): Jaipur Pink Panthers beat U Mumba 35–24
The first PKL final set the template for what this league would become. Jaipur Pink Panthers beat U Mumba 35–24 in 2014 to become the first champions. The 11-point margin looks comfortable on paper, but the meaning of that final was bigger than the score. A new league had to prove that kabaddi could fill a final, hold a television audience, and produce a champion that felt earned. Jaipur did that. The reported winning captain was Navneet Gautam.
What decided it was the same thing that still decides finals: control of the raid-tackle exchange. When a side wins the tackle battle without giving away all-outs, it controls the clock and the scoreboard. Jaipur did that well enough in Season 1 to keep U Mumba at arm’s length. The final also gave the league its first reference point. Every later champion would be measured against the question: can you finish like Jaipur did in the first season?
Why Season 1 still matters
Season 1 matters because it proved the format worked. A final with a clear winner, a real crowd, and a score that fans could remember gave the league a story to build on. Without that first final, there is no winners list at all.
Season 2 (2015): U Mumba beat Bengaluru Bulls 36–30
U Mumba answered the Season 1 defeat by winning Season 2. U Mumba beat Bengaluru Bulls 36–30 in the 2015 final. The six-point margin tells a story of a side that learned from losing a final and came back with better game management. The reported winning captain was Anup Kumar, one of the most respected leaders in the early years of the league.
The tactical lesson from Season 2 was about patience. A six-point final is not won by one super raid. It is won by stacking small advantages: bonus points taken cleanly, tackles timed to the bonus line, and no cheap all-out conceded on a do-or-die raid. U Mumba played that kind of final. Bengaluru pushed hard, but the gap stayed at six, and U Mumba closed it out.
Season 3 (2016, January): Patna Pirates beat U Mumba 31–28
Patna Pirates beat U Mumba 31–28 in January 2016 to start the most dominant run in PKL history. A three-point final is a last-raid final. One tackle, one bonus, or one all-out either way changes the winner. Patna held its nerve in that kind of game, and that composure became the hallmark of the club’s title run. The reported winning captain was Manpreet Singh.
Season 3 also showed how quickly the league was growing. Two seasons in one calendar year meant squads had to manage fatigue, form, and tactics across a much tighter cycle. Patna handled that cycle better than anyone. The 31–28 scoreline is the kind of score that tells you the defences were on top for long stretches, and the side that made fewer errors in the final minutes took the title.
Season 4 (2016, June): Patna Pirates beat Jaipur Pink Panthers 37–29
Five months later, Patna did it again. Patna Pirates beat Jaipur Pink Panthers 37–29 in June 2016 to defend the title. Back-to-back titles in the same calendar year is a rare feat in any league. Patna made it look like a habit. The reported winning captain was Dharmaraj Cheralathan.
The eight-point margin in Season 4 was wider than the three-point margin in Season 3, and that matters. It showed Patna could win both ways: the tight, last-raid final and the controlled final where the gap grows steadily. A side that can win both kinds of finals is hard to beat across a full season, because it does not need the game to follow one script.
Season 5 (2017): Patna Pirates beat Gujarat Giants 55–38
Patna Pirates beat Gujarat Giants 55–38 in 2017 to complete three titles in a row. The 17-point margin is the biggest in PKL final history. It is also the highest combined score in a final on this list, with 93 points scored in total. When a final produces 55 points for one side, the attack has done something special, and the defence has done enough to keep the other side from answering.
The reported winning captain was Pardeep Narwal. Season 5 is the peak of Patna’s dynasty. Three titles in a row, Seasons 3, 4, and 5, remains the only back-to-back-to-back run in the league. No other club has defended a title even once in the seasons since. That single fact explains why Patna sits at the top of every titles table, and why every new contender is measured against that run.
What made the Patna run different
Patna’s run was not about one player or one tactic. It was about winning the moments that decide finals: do-or-die raids handled without panic, super tackles taken when the game was tight, and all-outs forced at the right time rather than chased. The 55–38 final is the clearest example. A side does not reach 55 points in a final by accident. It reaches 55 by keeping the pressure on for the full match.
Season 6 (2018–19): Bengaluru Bulls beat Gujarat Giants 38–33
Bengaluru Bulls beat Gujarat Giants 38–33 in the Season 6 final in 2018–19. The five-point margin is the middle of the range for PKL finals: not a blowout, not a last-raid finish, but a game that stayed alive until the final minutes. The reported winning captain was Rohit Kumar.
Season 6 matters for two reasons. First, it broke Patna’s run and proved the league was not a one-club story. Second, it gave Gujarat Giants their second final defeat in a row, after the Season 5 loss to Patna. Two final defeats in a row is a hard record to carry. Gujarat would need to wait longer for a first title, and that wait shapes how fans still talk about the club. Bengaluru, meanwhile, joined the list of champions and gave the southern clubs a first title.
Season 7 (2019): Bengal Warriors beat Dabang Delhi K.C. 39–34
Bengal Warriors beat Dabang Delhi K.C. 39–34 in the Season 7 final in 2019. The five-point margin again kept the game alive late. The reported winning captain was Maninder Singh, who missed the final itself through injury, which makes this title unusual. A side that wins a final without its captain on the mat has to find leadership from somewhere else, and Bengal did that.
Season 7 also gave Dabang Delhi K.C. their first final defeat. Delhi would later become a two-time champion, but this final was the first time the club reached the last match and fell short. That kind of defeat often shapes a club’s later title runs. Delhi learned what a final demands, and the lessons from 2019 fed into the club’s later wins in Season 8 and Season 12.
Season 8 (2021–22): Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Patna Pirates 37–36
Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Patna Pirates 37–36 in the Season 8 final in 2021–22. One point. That is the closest final in PKL history. A one-point final is decided by a single bonus, a single tackle, or a single failed raid in the closing seconds. There is no room for a wasted raid. There is no room for a mistimed tackle. Delhi found that one point, and Patna missed it.
The reported winning captain was Joginder Narwal. Season 8 was also the first title for Delhi, after the Season 7 final defeat. Winning a one-point final against the most successful club in league history, after losing a final two seasons earlier, is the kind of result that defines a club. Delhi’s first title was earned the hard way, against the hardest opponent, by the smallest possible margin.
Season 9 (2022): Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Puneri Paltan 33–29
Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Puneri Paltan 33–29 in the Season 9 final in 2022. The four-point margin is another tight final, and it gave Jaipur a second title, eight seasons after the first. The reported winning captain was Sunil Kumar.
Season 9 is a reminder that titles in this league are not won in clusters by most clubs. Jaipur waited eight seasons between titles. That gap is normal in PKL. The league’s format, with auctions, retentions, and a long league stage, makes it hard for any club to stay on top for long. Jaipur’s second title proved that a club can rebuild, wait, and win again.
Season 10 (2023–24): Puneri Paltan beat Haryana Steelers 28–25
Puneri Paltan beat Haryana Steelers 28–25 in the Season 10 final in 2023–24. The three-point margin is the joint-second-closest in the list, and the 53 total points is the lowest combined score in any PKL final on this list. A low-scoring final tells its own story. Defences were on top. Raids were hard to convert. Every point had to be earned.
The reported winning captain was Aslam Inamdar. Season 10 gave Pune its first title, after the Season 9 final defeat. That is a familiar pattern in this list: lose a final, learn from it, win the next one. Pune followed the same path that Delhi and U Mumba had followed before. Haryana, meanwhile, reached a first final and fell short, but the club would answer that defeat in the very next season.
Why low-scoring finals are hard to win
A low-scoring final punishes every error. In a 55–38 final, a side can afford a failed do-or-die raid and still recover. In a 28–25 final, a failed raid can be the difference between winning and losing. Pune won the low-scoring final by making fewer errors when the game was tight, and by trusting its defence to hold the lead in the closing minutes.
Season 11 (2024): Haryana Steelers beat Patna Pirates 32–23
Haryana Steelers beat Patna Pirates 32–23 in the Season 11 final in 2024. The nine-point margin is the second-widest in the list after Season 5, and it gave Haryana its first title. The reported winning captain was Jaideep Dahiya.
Season 11 is important because it corrects a common error. Some lists on the web credit Season 11 to Patna Pirates. That is wrong. Haryana Steelers won Season 11. Patna were the runners-up. This page lists Haryana as the Season 11 champions, and the score as 32–23, because that is what the official record shows. If you see a list that says Patna won Season 11, that list is wrong.
For Haryana, Season 11 was the answer to the Season 10 final defeat. Lose a final one season, win it the next. The nine-point margin also showed that Haryana could win a final without needing a last-raid finish. The club controlled the game and kept Patna at a distance, which is the hardest way to beat the most successful club in the league.
Season 12 (2025): Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Puneri Paltan 31–28
Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Puneri Paltan 31–28 in the Season 12 final on 31 October 2025 at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi. The three-point margin is the joint-second-closest in the list, and it gave Delhi a second title, after the Season 8 win. The reported winning captain was Ashu Malik. The Most Valuable Player of the season was Fazel Atrachali of Dabang Delhi K.C.
Season 12 also gave the league one of its most dramatic playoff moments before the final. Qualifier 1 between the same two clubs ended as a 34–34 draw. Delhi won the tie-breaker, a five-raid shootout, 6–4. That result sent Delhi straight to the final and forced Pune into a longer route. When the same two clubs met again in the final, Delhi won 31–28. Two meetings, two Delhi wins, one by a tie-breaker and one by three points. That is how close the top of Season 12 was.
Season 12 awards that are verified
Three Season 12 awards are verified in this pass. Most Valuable Player: Fazel Atrachali of Dabang Delhi K.C. Best Raider: Ayan Lohchab of Patna Pirates, with 316 raid points in 22 games. Best Defender: Navdeep of Patna Pirates, with 73 tackle points in 21 games. Those three numbers are part of the Season 12 record, and they belong on any page that discusses the Season 12 final. Other seasons’ MVP awards are not listed here, because the sources conflict and this page does not guess.
Delhi’s Season 12 title also made the club the first home-team winner since U Mumba in Season 2. Winning a final in your own city, in front of your own fans, is a different kind of pressure. Delhi handled it. The club now has two titles, and both were earned against Patna or Pune, the two clubs that have shaped the recent era of the league.

PKL Winners List: Who Has Won the Most Titles?
Patna Pirates have won the PKL title three times (Seasons 3, 4, 5). That is the answer to the most common question about this list. No other club has won more than two. The table below shows the full titles count, then the notes below it explain what the numbers mean.
| Team | Titles | Winning seasons | Finals lost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Patna Pirates | 3 | S3, S4, S5 | S8, S11 |
| Dabang Delhi K.C. | 2 | S8, S12 | S7 |
| Jaipur Pink Panthers | 2 | S1, S9 | S4 |
| U Mumba | 1 | S2 | S1, S3 |
| Bengaluru Bulls | 1 | S6 | S2 |
| Bengal Warriors | 1 | S7 | — |
| Puneri Paltan | 1 | S10 | S9, S12 |
| Haryana Steelers | 1 | S11 | S10 |
| Gujarat Giants | 0 | — | S5, S6 |
| Tamil Thalaivas | 0 | — | — |
| Telugu Titans | 0 | — | — |
| U.P. Yoddhas | 0 | — | — |
Read the last column with care. Finals lost counts only the finals listed in the winners table above. It does not count playoff defeats before the final. A club that has never reached a final shows a dash. That is not a failure. It is a fact about the club’s final record, and it will change the next time that club reaches a final.
Patna Pirates — Three in a Row
Patna Pirates are the only club to defend a PKL title, and they did it twice in a row. Seasons 3, 4, and 5 form the only back-to-back-to-back run in the league. The scores tell the story of that run: 31–28, then 37–29, then 55–38. Tight, then controlled, then dominant. Patna could win a final in any shape, and that is why the run lasted three seasons.
Patna have also lost two finals since that run, in Season 8 and Season 11. That matters too. A club that reaches five finals in twelve seasons, wins three, and loses two, is the most consistent finalist in the league. Patna’s record is not just about the titles. It is about reaching finals again and again, across different squads and different eras.
Dabang Delhi K.C. and Jaipur Pink Panthers — Two Each
Dabang Delhi K.C. have won the PKL title twice, in Season 8 and Season 12. Both wins came against the strongest opponents of their eras: Patna in Season 8, Pune in Season 12. Both wins were tight: 37–36 and 31–28. Delhi have also lost one final, in Season 7. The club’s record is two wins and one loss in three finals, which is the best finals win rate of any multi-title club.
Jaipur Pink Panthers have also won twice, in Season 1 and Season 9. Jaipur’s two titles are eight seasons apart, which is the longest gap between titles for any multi-title club. Jaipur have also lost one final, in Season 4 to Patna. The club’s story is about patience: win the first title, wait, rebuild, and win again.
One-Title Clubs
Four clubs have won once each. U Mumba won Season 2 and lost two finals, in Season 1 and Season 3. Bengaluru Bulls won Season 6 and lost one final, in Season 2. Bengal Warriors won Season 7 and have never lost a final. Puneri Paltan won Season 10 and lost two finals, in Season 9 and Season 12. Haryana Steelers won Season 11 and lost one final, in Season 10.
Four clubs have never won a title. Gujarat Giants have reached two finals and lost both, in Season 5 and Season 6. Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans, and U.P. Yoddhas have never reached a final. Those three clubs are the next frontier of this list. The first time any of them wins a final, this page will need a new row in the titles table and a new chapter in the season notes.
Eight Different Champions in Twelve Seasons
Eight different clubs have won the title in twelve seasons. That is a high rate of change for any league. It means the title is not locked to one or two clubs. It means an auction, a coaching change, or a single season of good recruitment can turn a mid-table side into a champion. For fans, that is the appeal of the league. For this page, it means the winners list is not a static record. It changes, and it changes often.
Which PKL Final Was the Closest?
The closest PKL final was Season 8 in 2021–22, when Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Patna Pirates 37–36 — a one-point margin. Season 9 and Season 12 were also tight, but no final has been decided by fewer than one point. The one-point Season 8 final remains the benchmark for a last-raid finish.
The table below sorts every final by margin, from closest to widest. Read it alongside the winners table. The same finals appear in both, but this view answers a different question: which finals were decided late, and which were decided early?
| Margin | Season | Final | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 point | S8 (2021–22) | Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Patna Pirates | 37–36 |
| 3 points | S3 (2016 Jan) | Patna Pirates beat U Mumba | 31–28 |
| 3 points | S10 (2023–24) | Puneri Paltan beat Haryana Steelers | 28–25 |
| 3 points | S12 (2025) | Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Puneri Paltan | 31–28 |
| 4 points | S9 (2022) | Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Puneri Paltan | 33–29 |
| 5 points | S6 (2018–19) | Bengaluru Bulls beat Gujarat Giants | 38–33 |
| 5 points | S7 (2019) | Bengal Warriors beat Dabang Delhi K.C. | 39–34 |
| 6 points | S2 (2015) | U Mumba beat Bengaluru Bulls | 36–30 |
| 8 points | S4 (2016 Jun) | Patna Pirates beat Jaipur Pink Panthers | 37–29 |
| 9 points | S11 (2024) | Haryana Steelers beat Patna Pirates | 32–23 |
| 11 points | S1 (2014) | Jaipur Pink Panthers beat U Mumba | 35–24 |
| 17 points | S5 (2017) | Patna Pirates beat Gujarat Giants | 55–38 |
Five finals have been decided by three points or fewer. That is almost half the list. The league does not produce many blowouts in finals. Even the widest margin, the 17-point Season 5 final, is the exception that proves the rule. Most PKL finals stay alive until the last few raids, and the side that handles those raids better wins.
How the PKL Final Is Decided
The PKL final is a single match between the two clubs that survive the playoffs. The side with more points at the end of normal time wins the title. If the scores are level, the final goes to a tie-breaker. In Season 12, the tie-breaker used in the playoffs was a five-raid shootout, followed by a Golden Raid if still level. That is how Qualifier 1 was decided, when Delhi beat Pune 6–4 in the shootout after a 34–34 draw.
The final itself has never needed a tie-breaker on this list. Every final from Season 1 to Season 12 was decided in normal time. That does not mean the final cannot go to a tie-breaker. It means no final has needed one yet. If a future final ends level, the tie-breaker rules for that season will decide the champion, and this page will record the tie-breaker score alongside the normal-time score.
Why finals are often close
Finals are often close because the two best sides in the league have already survived a long league stage and a playoff run. By the time they meet in the final, both sides know how to defend, how to manage the bonus line, and how to avoid giving away an all-out. The result is a game where points are hard to earn and errors are costly. That is why five finals have been decided by three points or fewer.
What wins a final
What wins a final is not one tactic. It is the combination of clean raids, timed tackles, and control of the do-or-die moments. A side that wins the do-or-die raids without conceding super tackles builds a lead. A side that forces an all-out at the right time breaks the game open. A side that defends the bonus line in the last five minutes protects the lead. The champions on this list did those things better than their opponents on the night.
When Will the Season 13 Winner Be Decided?
The Season 13 winner has not been decided yet, and the dates are To Be Announced. The league has not confirmed a start date, fixture list, or final date as of 19 October 2026. Reports point to a late December 2026 start and a February 2027 final, but those dates are Reported, not Confirmed.
This page does not list a Season 13 winner, because there is none yet. When the league announces the Season 13 dates, this page will add a Season 13 row to the winners table, with the champion, runner-up, and final score, once the final has been played. Until then, any list that claims a Season 13 winner or a confirmed Season 13 final date is guessing.
The defending champions are Dabang Delhi K.C., after the Season 12 win. Whether Delhi can defend the title in Season 13, or whether another club will join the list of champions, is the question that will shape the next season. For the full schedule once it is announced, see the PKL Schedule homepage.
How to Use This Winners List
Use this page as a reference, not as a prediction. If you want to check who won a specific season, use the season-by-season table. If you want to compare clubs, use the titles table. If you want to settle an argument about the closest final, use the margins table. If you want to check the latest season, read the Season 12 section, which has the most detail because it is the most recent verified record.
If you spot an error, check it against the official league record. The official league site is the primary source for this page, and the single outbound link on this page goes to that source. This page will be corrected if the official record changes, and the Last Updated date at the top will be updated at the same time.

Who won the first PKL season?
Jaipur Pink Panthers won the first PKL season in 2014, beating U Mumba 35–24 in the final. The reported winning captain was Navneet Gautam. Jaipur’s first title gave the new league its first champion and its first reference point for every season that followed.
How many times has Patna Pirates won PKL?
Patna Pirates have won PKL three times, in Seasons 3, 4, and 5. Some lists on the web wrongly credit Patna with four titles by adding Season 11. That is incorrect. Haryana Steelers won Season 11, beating Patna Pirates 32–23 in the final. This page lists Patna with three titles.
Who won PKL Season 11?
Haryana Steelers won PKL Season 11 in 2024, beating Patna Pirates 32–23 in the final. The reported winning captain was Jaideep Dahiya. The win gave Haryana a first title, one season after losing the Season 10 final to Puneri Paltan by three points.
Who won PKL Season 6?
Bengaluru Bulls won PKL Season 6 in 2018–19, beating Gujarat Giants 38–33 in the final. The reported winning captain was Rohit Kumar. Season 6 is sometimes missing from other winners lists on the web. This page includes it, because a complete winners list must cover every season.
What was the closest PKL final?
The closest PKL final was Season 8 in 2021–22, when Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Patna Pirates 37–36, a one-point margin. No final has been decided by fewer than one point. Three finals have been decided by three points: Season 3, Season 10, and Season 12.

Has any team defended the PKL title?
Yes. Patna Pirates are the only team to have defended the PKL title, and they did it twice in a row, winning Seasons 3, 4, and 5. No other club has won back-to-back titles. Defending a title in this league is rare because the auction and the long league stage make it hard to stay on top.
Who is the defending champion going into Season 13?
Dabang Delhi K.C. are the defending champions going into Season 13, after beating Puneri Paltan 31–28 in the Season 12 final. Season 13 dates, fixtures, and the final are To Be Announced as of 19 October 2026. This page will be updated once the Season 13 final has been played.
Where can I check the official PKL winners record?
You can check the official league record on the official Pro Kabaddi League site, which is the primary source for this page. This page records champions, runners-up, and final scores from that official record, with Season 13 marked as To Be Announced until the league confirms it.
